As a technology platform serving multiple DMC, activity and inbound suppliers in Costa Rica, the TOP Costa Rica team were looking for a payment solution they could integrate into their platform. The key concerns for the TOP team were, firstly, finding a provider who could serve the market – both to onboard the local operators, but also process payments from around the world. Secondly, they also wanted to offer protection to their customers to encourage great bookings.
The pool of acquiring banks in Costa Rica is quite small and the banks tend to be risk averse, especially when it comes to international trade and the restrictions on currencies that there are in the country. With such a large number of small operators, TOP Costa Rica needed a solution that could scale and deal with the inevitable complexities that come with travel payments, especially in a market like Latin America.
Providing payment solutions to travel companies, wherever they are located in the world, is what Repayd do as standard. Working with the TOP Costa Rica team Repayd were able to provide a technical solution which gave them a checkout experience that all of their providers could access, allowing for seamless payments when customers book through the associated TOP Costa Rica platform.

Merchants have access to reporting either directly through the Repayd dashboard or they can also use their TOP Costa Rica access to review all transactions, and manage their account through there.
As a fully managed service Repayd takes care of any chargeback representments on behalf of the merchants and works to ensure that TOP Costa Rica can return good acceptance rates across multiple merchants. The merchants are all live with credit card and bank transfer processing, and TOP Costa Rica are just in the process of adding GooglePay and ApplePay to the checkout options.
Repayd are also working with TOP Costa Rica on a joint marketing activity in the region.
